This Sunday there’s a great opportunity to find out more about the wildlife that flourishes at Bradlaugh Fields. Jeff Ollerton, professor of biodiversity at the University of Northampton will be leading a walk round the wildflower meadows in the Nature Reserve, looking especially at the relationships between flowering plants and their pollinators; bees, hoverflies and butterflies, as well as the work that the nearby University has been doing at Bradlaugh for many years now.
Free meeting, all welcome.
We’ll gather initially at 1.30pm at the entrance at the very top of Aintree Road, which is the one nearest the quarry field (the field with the cows in it) before going round ‘Scrub’ Field and Orchid Bank. Suitable footwear advisable.
